Artisans toil and put in all their hard work and creativity to create such magnanimous handicrafts.

Some of the companies that are helping the artisans grow,

TJORI :

It was found by 36 year old Mansi Gupta in 2013.

While she was studying at university of Pennsylvania she got to know that there was a great demand for Indian handicrafts in abroad, but there wasn’t any Indian brand to fulfil the need, so she wanted to start up a company in this niche. Tjori is a online-first multi-category, artisanal ethnics brand, that sells mother and child products, home, wellness, apparels. More than 500 artisans are contributing to Tjori today.

RAMNARAYAN BLUE ART POTTERY :

A second generation business run by Ramnarayan Prajapat, catering its products worldwide. Started by a poor father who couldn’t feed the family, who went to learn this art at jodhpur that turned into a biggest success. Today this company has nearly 250 artisans producing this pottery, and has created employment opportunities for woman as well.

TRIVENI CHIKAN ARTS :

Lucknow and those Chikan embroidery takes dates back to those Mughal period. This company was started by Nitesh Agarwal. The company manufactures and exports hand embroidered chikankari apparel. There are 200 woman and few men artisans working indirectly for the company.

THE INDIAN ETHINIC Co :

Started by mom-daughter duo Hetal and Lekhinee Desai after their visit to handloom exhibition instead of shopping they came with exciting idea to start clothing line and 50 meters fabric in Ajrakh print. Made several Kurtis in different sizes with the fabric with their neighborhood tailor, created Facebook page and got sold and circulated the link among friends. Now over 1000 artisans contribute in the company with their work.

ECO TASAR :

It was started when Mr.Khitish was looking for job and consulting came in contact with an NGO- PRADAN that uplifts people in rural areas. The NGO had been providing livelihood to woman of Bihar textile hub of Bhagalpur, launching Masuta a subsidiary that took over yarn and fabric production in 2004- owned by all woman who made the yarn.

Though PRADAN was bringing yarn making community together it was struggling with meeting its expenses, that's when Mr. Khitish came in to help market their products, bought out the company’s fabric division in the later stage and launched as ECO TASAR as separate entity, this company has impacted lives of over 1000 woman with employment- they convert yarn into fabric.
